A Prebid meeting for all bidders will be held at the project location (Wiley Elementary
School) at 1602 S. Anderson St, Urbana, IL 61801 on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 10:00 am. CST, local
time. Prospective prime bidders are requested to attend. Building and site will be unoccupied and
available for contractor examination.
Bidders' Questions: Architect will provide responses at Prebid conference to bidders' questions received up to two business days prior to conference.

will consider bids prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by Owner, and
delivered as follows:

Description
The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following:
Project consists of a 30,650 square foot addition to the existing 42,536 school building.
The building
addition includes a new gymnasium, stage, locker room, and accessory spaces that will serve as the storm
shelter for the building; as well as a library, main office suite, 6 specialty classrooms, teacher support
spaces, staff offices, and toilet rooms.
Remodeling work for the existing building includes major
remodeling of the entire facility including kitchen, classrooms, offices, toilet rooms, and support spaces
as well as new plumbing, fire protection, electrical, and geothermal mechanical system.
Site work includes utility upgrades, new parking, and new public transit bus lane.
Project alternates include a soccer field with surrounding walking track, repaving parking areas and bus
lane entry, and alternate wall and floor finishes.

Downloadable and Printed Sets of Bidding Documents may be ordered per the options listed on the Order page (plus Processing Fee/Eco Fee, and Shipping/Delivery and Tax when applicable). Credit Card or Eastern Engineering Charge Account required (before printing) for purchases.
Subcontractors and suppliers are encouraged to obtain plans through General Contractors
although additional sets will be available at the cost of printing. When requesting documents,
identify the contract or trade you are bidding. Contractors who do not submit a bid will forfeit
their drawing deposit.
